The
Decatur County Middle School Student Council sponsors a “turkey feather”
fund-raiser every year at this time. For every dollar the students bring in and
donate, a feather will be placed on the turkey of the teacher or staff member of
their choice. Proceeds from the fund-raiser will be used to purchase food
baskets for families during the holidays and other Student Council Projects.
The teacher or staff member with the largest number of “feathers” on their
turkey will be named the “Turkey Teacher of the Year”. Students” families who
receive the food baskets will receive everything they need for a “BIG” holiday
dinner.
