I have spent my entire life in Decatur County except for the four years I was away in college. I attended Parsons Elementary School and now have a daughter who teaches in that same school. I then attended Parsons Jr. High and returned to teach Language Arts and Science in that same school. After we combined and became Decatur County Middle School, I was allowed to teach technology, where I remain today. I also attended Riverside High School and have a son who teaches in that same school today.

My graduate education was received at Union University, Cumberland University and Trevecca University.

I am also happily married and spend my leisure time takiing care of my family, crocheting and doing needle work.

FAMILY

Our families are such an important part of our lives.  Some more than others, but I believe some should be more.  A wise man once said, "God first, family second, school third", and I couldn't agree more.  The problem is sometimes students don't see school as priority number 3.  It is somewhere down the line after sports, friends, video games or whatever else they choose to put in the way.

I will be missing some days in January related to family matters, but will still be keeping school and my assigned duties in my mind.  I consider it important to try and teach our students to priotorize as well.  Let us keep in mind, this goal. Important things first, but do not ignore numbers 3 or 4 in our list.

Have a great winter.  Spring is just around the corner.

I'm very excited about starting a New Year.  I made no resolutions, personally or professionally, because I consider them  pointless.  If we are to "renew our minds daily", then making yearly promises to oneself seems to be useless.,

The new website for our school is exciting too.  I have enjoyed working on it, but it presents me with challenges.  I have always enjoyed meeting challenges head on, and this website is no exception.  I'm really hoping the general public viewing the website, will leave us comments, email us or contact us with suggestions.

My goal for the New Year is to be the best person I can be, and allow the Lord even more control of my life and goals.

Happy New Year!!!
